Britain’s best manufacturing brains are ready to help your business grow

The Manufacturing Institute’s Growth Programme – delivered by manufacturers for manufacturers – has been launched – to help North West manufacturing SMEs grow and prosper.

The £2.4 million growth programme provides senior managers, directors and owners with the key skills and tools needed to deliver higher profits, create customer value, drive sales and lead from the front.

A high-profile team of senior business figures is leading the initiative, headed by Mike Innes, former Managing Director of Money Controls Ltd and including:

  • Nigel Blenkinsop (Director, Powertrain Operations, Jaguar Land Rover)
  • Frank Hayden (former Group Manufacturing Director, Rolls-Royce)
  • Vanda Murray (Manchester Airport Group, Carillion plc)
  • Matthew Kimpton-Smith (Managing Director, Cygnet Group Ltd)
  • Jim Sumner (former Chief Executive, Optare)

Mike Innes said: “The Growth Programme is a great opportunity for North West manufacturers to  pinpoint market opportunities and stay ahead of the competition.  Our team has real experience of driving growth in SME environments, and this will  be invaluable in supporting and strengthening  the performance of all businesses taking part.”

The project has been made possible through investment from The Manufacturing Institute and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).  The Manufacturing Institute, an independent charity, has been inspiring, educating and improving the performance of manufacturing companies – delivering improvements worth more than £1.1 billion within 9,000 businesses over the last decade alone.
