Acas Helpline – Handling upcoming holiday requests, and more

Acas Logo 2013According to a survey by the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) most people plan to take their holidays in the months of September (23%), August (17%) and then June and July (both 13.6%).

Managing leave requests and planning resources around these periods can be a tricky issue for employers.

The Acas Helpline is here to help. Our confidential Helpline is a great source of free advice for employers wanting to check their processes and practice. Throughout the summer we receive a wide range of questions relating to holiday issues and leave requests. This can include employer arrangements for term time workers, whether or not bank holidays should or should not be included in statutory leave, and what an employer can do if an employee changes their leave dates at short notice or with no notice at all.
