Liverpool Biennial announces new appointments

Liverpool Biennial is pleased to announce the appointment of Louise Garforth as Head of Development, and Carly Townsend as Marketing and Communications Officer. These two new appointments come as Liverpool Biennial looks ahead to its eighth festival, to take place in 2014.

Louise Garforth joins Liverpool Biennial from Marketing Cheshire (formerly Visit Chester & Cheshire) where she spent 7 years as a senior manager delivering numerous projects and contributing to the operational management of the business.  During her time at Marketing Cheshire Louise programme managed Cheshire’s Year of Gardens ’08, Marketing Cheshire’s stakeholder management and the brand profile of the organisation.

In her role as Head of Development at Liverpool Biennial Louise will drive the development strategy creating innovative relationships with a diverse range of sponsors and supporters ensuring a dynamic and sustainable funding portfolio for Liverpool Biennial.

Louise says “I am extremely passionate about Liverpool, its cultural offering and vibrancy as I studied Fashion Textiles Design at Liverpool John Moores University School of Art.

I started my career in Liverpool and am excited to be returning to work in a role that brings all of my skills together in a sector that I am enthusiastic about.

2014 will be an exciting year for Liverpool as we open the 8th Liverpool Biennial during the International Festival of Business.”

 

Carly Townsend, Marketing and Communications Officer  

 Carly Townsend joins Liverpool Biennial after four years as Marketing Assistant at Tate Liverpool, where she supported the planning and implantation of both regional and national arts marketing campaigns. She also spent 6 months prior to this as Marketing Assistant at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.

Carly says “After spending four years in arts marketing in Liverpool I am very excited to be joining Liverpool Biennial, the largest contemporary arts festival in the UK. I am very much looking forward to applying my arts marketing experience in this new role, and contributing to one of the city’s most inspiring cultural events”.
