All change – from Commission to Network

June 30th, 2011

THE Efficiency Commission will be continuing its efficiency work until March 2012 under a new name – the Efficiency Network.

Efficiency Commission activities will now be managed through the Efficiency Network by NWEGG, hosted by Tameside Council.

The Efficiency Network will work closely with the Improvement Network – the new name for the Partnerships and Enablers Commissions – which will be managed by North West Employers.

Both Networks are part of the NWIEP transitional programme which will continue until the end of March 2012 and will be overseen by Gillian Bishop, Director of Places for Wigan.

The transitional programme will have an Operational Board, made up of representatives from the sub regions and key organisations, which will agree the programmes and activity of both Networks and will also monitor the outcomes.

The Efficiency Commission is finalising future programme budgets, future performance reporting arrangements, audit requirements and legacy project arrangements ready to hand over to the Efficiency Network in July.

The Efficiency Network will ensure the 9-month work programme complements existing activity and the legacy from current work programmes and networks.
