EMBF Northwest Awards 2010 shortlist

February 28th, 2010

awards dinnerThe 2010 Northwest Ethnic Minority Business Forum Awards are now in full swing, with the shortlist announced.

Over 25 businesses and individuals from across England’s Northwest are in the line up to go through to the final of the Awards, which are now in their third successive year.

Taking place on 11th March at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral, the awards are a chance to recognise, reward and celebrate the contribution that BME individuals and businesses make to the regional economy in the Northwest. It aims to inspire and encourage more members of the BME community in the region to start-up or expand their businesses in the Northwest.

Following on from last year’s event, the 2010 ceremony will once again be a unique interactive experience with guests able to select winners from a shortlist of nominations, via an interactive audience polling system available on the night.

Supported by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the EMBF was set up in January 2005 and provides strategic leadership and strategic policy advice to the NWDA, key regional decision makers and stakeholders in order to empower BME businesses to maximise their full potential for the benefit of the region’s economy.

Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive, NWDA, said:

“Once again I am delighted to announce the shortlist for the 2010 Awards. The past two years have been a tremendous hit, with past winners going on to achieve success in their fields. I would like to congratulate everyone who has made it thought to the final and wish them luck for success on the night.

“The NWDA continues to work hard to remove the barriers to economic participation for everyone, ensuring the Northwest economy can grow to its full potential.”
